What Deer Run Parents Have to Say

In a world where kids are bombarded with technology and so much social media I love that Deer Run offers something different. My son loves CDR and says it’s his favorite of all camps.

1st Session Parent

We couldn’t be more thankful for Camp Deer Run and the staff. Both my daughters have attended several years and it just gets better every year. Your positive, spiritual summer camp experience is invaluable to our family, thank you for everything!

5th Session Parent

Camp was amazing for our daughter! She constantly talks about it and has asked us to plan our family vacation around the camp dates!

At the Hoche Retreat, our teenage campers, ages 13-17, get a break from the busyness of the school year and reconnect with Camp friends and counselors. It is a relaxed but super fun, spiritually focused weekend.

Family Retreats

Every year we host a Mother-Daughter and a Father-Son Retreat. These retreats are an excellent opportunity to share CDR with your kids and build up your relationship with your children through Christ!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why Camp Deer Run?

Kids need time in nature. Kids need real, lasting friendships. Kids need fun that isn't attached to a screen. Most importantly, kids need Jesus. Camp Deer Run provides these things with a unique summer camp program where kids can unplug, get outside, and experience God, pure & simple.

What's the difference between a one and two week session?

One-week sessions run from Sunday to Friday, meaning there are four full days of Camp. Two-week sessions go from Sunday until the Friday of the next week, making twelve full days of Camp. So the biggest difference is that two-week sessions actually have triple the amount of Camp!

One-week sessions are often a great starting point for younger campers, and we pack as much fun, friendship, and worship into these shorter sessions as we can! Click here to check out the one-week session theme days and activities.

Two-week sessions include everything about one-week sessions, but with several extra highlights like Outcamping, the Hawaiian Day slip'n'slide, Killi Kapers, Mellow Night, and much more. Click here to check out the two-week session theme days and activities.

What are the age requirements?

Campers ages 5 to 8 years old are eligible for our PeeWee Day Camps (must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024 to be eligible).

Campers over the age of 9 up to incoming High School Seniors are eligible for overnight camp sessions (must be 9 years old by September 1, 2024 to be eligible).

How do I register?

To register, visit https://campdeerrun.campmanagement.com/p/campers/login_m.php. General Overnight Camp Registration begins on February 11th at 2:00pm.

What are the cabins like?

Our cabins are intentionally built to be rustic and minimalistic, but also safe and comfortable. There is no air conditioning in our cabins, but campers are encouraged to bring a box fan or other personal fan - this is usually plenty to keep everyone cool at night! Cabins are mostly used for changing clothes and sleeping, so in the heat of the day there is not much time spent in the cabins.

Is Camp Deer Run Safe?

We take extensive measures to ensure the health and safety of our campers. We have at least one medical staff member on site at all times (EMT, Nurse, or Doctor). Campers are supervised at all times and our staff are thoroughly vetted, background checked, and trained on child safety.

To hear more about our safety policies and procedures, please contact our office.

Who are the Staff?

Every summer we hire 65+ college-aged young adults to serve on our summer staff. These staff go through a thorough application, interview, and background check process. Before the summer, all the staff are trained extensively in camper safety. We only hire staff who are practicing Christians who are members of a church body.

What are the dates and prices?

Camperships

Scholarship Program

Camp Deer Run plays a vital role in the spiritual growth of our campers. It is our hope that we will be able to offer the Deer Run experience to as many kids as possible, never turning anyone away for financial reasons. We have established this campership program as a way to ensure that any family who wants to send their child to camp will be able to, regardless of their financial situation. There are no requirements to apply. If you have a need, we want to help.

APPLICATIONS FOR 2024 SUMMER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ARE NOW CLOSED.
