Is the 2021 schedule different because of COVID-19?
As of now, we plan to proceed with our entire summer program as usual. This year’s schedule can be found at www.campdeerrun.com/register.
If any sessions have to be cancelled, will I get a refund?
For the summer of 2021, we will offer refunds for any cancellations that may occur. This does not include the non-refundable $100 deposit paid at the time of registration. All deposits for the summer of 2021 are not refundable in the event of any cancellation or withdrawal.
Is it safe to send my child to camp this summer?
Camp Deer Run is doing everything in its power to keep camp as safe as possible. That being said, there is simply no way to guarantee that your camper won’t potentially be exposed to COVID-19. For a full list of our prevention measures, visit www.campdeerrun.com/covid19/prevention. Our greatest priority is always camper safety, and we are doing as much as we can to prevent the entry and spread of COVID-19 at Camp Deer Run. The decision to send your child to camp is ultimately up to your discretion. We understand any hesitations and we respect your decision, whatever it may be.
Will masks be required at Camp this summer?
*Our mask policy has changed*
Face coverings will be optional for the summer of 2021. Following updated recommendations from the CDC, low local case rates, and a high percentage of fully vaccinated summer staff, the Board of Directors at Camp Deer Run has decided to make face coverings optional for the summer of 2021.
Campers should feel comfortable wearing a mask if they prefer. There will be no tolerance for bullying or jokes about anyone’s choice to wear a mask.
Will PeeWees be required to wear masks?
No. PeeWees will not be required to wear masks.
What if my camper has been vaccinated or recently had COVID-19?
If your camper has been fully vaccinated or has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to their session, they will not be considered as an exposure if another camper or staff does test positive for COVID-19, and they will be allowed to stay at Camp without quarantining.
Please bring proof of vaccination or positive COVID-19 test to Camp with you at check-in.
Will there be Middle Sunday this year?
There will not be any public visiting opportunities this summer to minimize risk of COVID exposure.
Parents of two-week session campers will have the opportunity to visit. For more information, please check our prevention page.
Can I visit my camper?
We understand that the parents of two-week campers may want to visit their child(ren). Parents who wish to visit their camper may email firstname.lastname@example.org with their request. You will be assigned a two hour visiting window on either the middle Saturday or Sunday of your camper’s session. During this two hour window, your camper(s) will be pulled from their regularly scheduled activities to visit with you in a location set apart from other campers. Masks are optional for visiting parents and family members.
